IOWA SOCIETY OF MAYFLOWER DESCENDANTS

WELCOME

We honor the memory of courage and community demonstrated by the Pilgrim passengers who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620. The Iowa Society of Mayflower Descendants is a non-profit lineage society dedicated to preserving the history of our Mayflower ancestors through education and research.  Members of the Iowa Society of Mayflower Descendants have documented direct descent from a passenger who bravely crossed the Atlantic in the Mayflower in 1620.

Our State Society is affiliated with the General Society of Mayflower Descendants with headquarters in Plymouth, Massachusetts.  There are now 54 Member Societies throughout the world representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Europe, and Australia. The Member Societies are dedicated to commemorating the spirit of survival and endurance exhibited by our Pilgrim ancestors.
Anyone 18 years or older is eligible to join our society if you can provide documentation demonstrating that you are a direct descendant of a passenger who sailed to New England on the Mayflower in 1620.
